Custom Made Furniture with Creative Personality
Judson Beaumont of Straightline Designs is an imagination extraordinaire in the world of custom made furniture and unique environment installations. He specializes in highly creative & whimsical, custom designed woodwork & furniture. Each piece is so very unique and not only decorative but also a functional work of art.
Judson started his design business, Straight Line Designs, straight out of art school in the 80’s.
Straight Line Designs is a innovative workshop that accepts commissions to create one-of-a-kind custom furnishings and environments, for customers world wide.
Some of his recent large projects include Limited Edition Cartoon Furniture Pieces for Disney, Childrens play environments for YVR Vancouver International Airport, a Childrens Reading Environment for Princeton University, a Circus-Themed Waiting Room for Newark Beth Israel Children’s Hospital, and many more. Judson’s plan for Straight Line is to continue strengthening its ability to creatively design and build more inspiring environments for hospitals, airports, day care centers, play areas, and clients’ homes.
From a creative standpoint, I find Justin’s work to be highly inspirational. He thinks outside of the box and is certainly not thinking along any predefined straight lines. I also found some of his personal quotes to be equally inspirational & motivating to anyone that works in a creative capacity.
From Justin:
“My rule is: if you can draw and design it, you can build it. I love it when someone tells me that, ‘You cannot build that’ or ‘No one would want that’. These words only encourage me more.”
“A person must dare to drift away from the tried and true in order to give a piece energy and interest. Be influenced and inspired by the norm, and then challenge it, change it, melt it, stretch it, alter it for the better”
On a scale of 1 to 10 on the creativity chart, my vote is 11! Props to Juston & Straightline Designs. I look forward to seeing more of their work. Be sure to check out Straightline Designs and their blog to peek in on what Justin and his team are up to!
