Creative Upcycled Lighting
Getting creative with lights can add atmosphere and an energizing mood to your environment. Choosing the right lighting helps to create a decorative focal point and even add a conversation piece. Recently, I came across these uber creative and decorative pendant lights, lamps, and chandeliers created by a team of 2, Jeff and Mark of BootsNGus on Etsy. Jeff and Mark credit the name of their shop after their beloved cats, Boots & Gus. Naming the shop with a token of their love was a great idea, since after shopping the many pendant lamps, chandeliers and other hand made items they design, it’s easy to see their passion and the attention that they put into each and every piece. The shop is a well of ideas and demonstrates how this team seems to ask the question, “How can we create lights from upcycled objects? Let us count the ways”…
BootsNGus turn antique jars, vintage glassware and other unique items into beautiful and functional lamps and decor. Their unique lights are hanging in homes, offices, restaurants and shops all over the world. The duos chandeliers have been featured in Country Living Magazine, Natural Home and Garden Magazine, Flea Market Style Magazine, and Canadian House & Home Magazine and they have also been featured on ABC TVs Extreme Makeover Home Edition. It’s no wonder why… they’re proving that recycling can be beautiful, functional and very creative!
