Ralph & Russo Spring 2015 Couture
Ralph & Russo presented their Spring 2015 Couture Collection during Paris Fashion Week and it was a walk through designs reminiscent of a by gone era of 50’s style dresses and palatial runway gowns. Styles are punctuated with elegant see through lace creations, artfully sculpted dresses and gowns and flowing capes. Several designs feature bud type shapes and fabrics are crafted to fold or unfold like flower petals. Tulle is fairy wing light and used to create soft and sculpted, petal like shapes. Sumptuous and elegant silks flutter effortlessly down the runway. Expertly executed embroidery, one of the honored textile arts that I adore about couture, and delicate and light floral appliques are peppered throughout the collection.
Tamara Ralph has carried her families love for couture through to this generation and proves with every collection that being self taught is not to be underestimated. In under a decade, Tamara along with Michael Russo have created a brand that is heralded by some of the most notable clients. Together they have created a name that runs along side design houses that have been established for nearly half a century and in 2013 were jointly recognized on Fortune Magazine’s 40 under 40, #39 on a list curated by Fortune that is considered to be the most influential leaders of the selected year. That’s impressive!
