Etro Spring 2015-16 Collection

Spring Fashion Week 2015 wrapped up and I’m overwhelmed by all of the fabulous styles from the runways of New York, Milan, Paris, Madrid and Berlin. I’ve got my work cut out for me in selecting the most creative trends to feature. I decided to begin the season with this designer collection based on the nature of two of my favorite things. Making things by hand and my admiration for everything Native American, without insulting their culture or traditions.

Veronica Etro elected the hand made over the cookie-cutter perfection of commercial Ready-to-wear in this new Spring 2015-16 collection. It’s all about making things by hand and her eye for details and pattern matching is notable . Veronica was inspired and energized by nature and Native American culture and design. Her palette glows with an abundance of sunset colors in corals, blues and lavenders with neutral sands. She infused Native American inspired patterns and textures, with rich embroidery and intricate Native styled bead work. She combines the airy layers of washed-to-look-worn silks, elements of ruffles, vests and little jackets with colorful and comfortable dresses that are totally haute hippy. Details are creative and copious; custom dyeing, braiding, ties, fraying and fringe are everywhere. Designs are paired with a hint of feathers in accessories; belts, necklaces, bracelets, a single earring, and fringed bags. This collection has something for anyone that loves Bohemian fashion. A little could go a long way. The knee-high, fringed moccasins are one of my favorites as are the long, medicine bag necklaces. I’ll take a beaded handbag too!
