Julien Fournie Spring 2014
Julien Fournie Spring 2014 Haute Couture Collection brims with unique perspectives on formal styles. Styles combine old world appeal with a fresh, contemporary edge. Sheer layers of feather weight fabric are layered over sequin covered linings. Foiled fabrics and metallic patterns join ruffles in creative ways. Julien demonstrates his talented manipulation of fabric with creations that feature abundant pleats that evolve into long billowing skirts and deep cowl necks. Ballet style tiered skirts take on a painterly look with a wispy layer of gray topped over peach ruffles. I love the see-through gray wrap gown with its long sleeves in bare fabric that gathers at the wrist. I’d have LOVED to see that over the peach too. The racer back top created entirely out of beads is a masterful work of art. The weaving is exceptional. Very creative!
