Fausto Sarli Spring Summer 2011 Haute Couture

The shapes in this collection are so unique and utterly creative. One has to ignore the year for the most part when admiring a couture collection. There isn’t much trend following for designers that do most of the trend setting. Art is interpreted through an artists eyes and reinvented in fresh ways when the work that they do is done well – and this collection is done remarkably well. The crafting and manipulation of fabric is exceptional. Outstanding and artistic methods of pleating, ruffles and macrame styled lace cannot be ignored. The ruffles resemble waterfalls. The pleats remind me of folding fans. Fausto Sarli’s designs are exquisite.
