Sarah Burton is tapping into her imagination like a prophet. Just before going out on maternity leave, she polished up the Fall 2016 Alexander McQueen ensemble. She seems to have picked up where she left off in Spring, with a strong notion of the sensual, of the bedroom and romantic Lingerie. Evening wear is still shape focused and amplified with ultra sheer fabric, lace and ruffles. Bra and Corset like elements are incorporated as are boudoir styled bed jackets that resemble the finest of luxury comforters. There are gowns that are nearly bare and the body is literally adorned in strategically embroidered artwork, or layers of barely there fabric adorned in starlight beading.
Sarah also included a series of tailored pant suits with open jackets that feature sexy bralets and body jewelry, and suit dresses, some in leather, that are emboldened with colored butterflies, big pocket watches and body chains. The only way it could be better is if the fur were faux.
