Tiaras and Butterflies

Lesley Ann was originally trained as a costume designer for theater. She spent several years working as a costume prop maker. Lesley Ann found that she had a magpie’s eye for ornamentation and embellishment. A friend asked her to create an original tiara for her wedding. It was then she decided to start creating more unique, Fairy Tale inspired accessories.

Lesley Ann has no formal jewelery training. She creates her pieces in a very spontaneous and unconventional way. She has an affinity for butterflies and what they represent; freedom, magic and metamorphosis, so the butterfly theme is one which runs throughout much of her work. Additionally, she also draws inspiration from Fairy Tales, Vintage Glamour and Nature.

With each design, Lesley Ann usually begins with a wire framework and then hand embellishes each piece using an array of the finest materials; fine organza, lace, braids, vintage beads and Swarovski crystals. Each accessory has its own story to tell and the theme of fairy princess will often emerge from her process. Lesley hopes that her pieces will provoke the imagination and offer a unique alternative to traditional wedding or special occasion accessories.

Lesley Ann creates one of a kind headpieces, hair ornaments and decorative costume jewelry for special events, weddings and parties. Think glamour with a touch of wit and lots of sparkle!
Her goal is to create imaginative designs that are fun to wear and will appeal to those who wish to express their own unique creative style. These are a sampling of her handmade tiaras, butterfly hair combs and hair accessories. They’re delicate, feminine and very pretty.
