Jenny Packham Spring 2015
Jenny Packham Spring 2015 is another demonstrative collection of Jenny’s talented eye for memorable and ultra feminine designs. She credits Marilyn Monroe as her muse for this season and it seems to manifest the most as body hugging shapes. Pencil shaped dresses flatter a fit figure and come to life with flattering color and attentive details. Strategically placed, directional beading and sequins cascade over slim evening silhouettes in intricate patterns that define a woman’s curves. Warm colors are soft and flatter. Baby pink, salmon, coral red, russet browns. I love the baby pink and all of the rich browns. A sunny gold adds another layer of warmth and the subdued sky blue lightens this otherwise warm palette. The blue joins the yellow in several geometric inspired designs that almost seem to belong to another chapter in Jenny’s fully packed imagination. Flowers meet the rays of the sun. The neutrals are refined and quite formal. Overall, the collection has a Resort feel, with selections for day and for night. Sheer fabrics are embroidered with flora, fabrics glow with rich textures, beading in botanical shapes and waterfalls of sequins amplify the curvaceous lines. Jenny Packham usually focuses on gowns but there are lots of dresses this season and they’re all very attractive. I love all of the body hugging, the 3/4 lengths and solid colors and I’m crazy for the off the shoulder look on the salmon dress too.
