Elie Saab Fall Winter 2014-15 Couture
The Elie Saab Fall Winter 2014-15 Couture Collection was held at Pavillon Cambon Capucines, 46 Rue Cambon Paris and the stage was palatial. Eleven opulent crystal chandeliers set a mood of royalty and refinement and reflected the glimmering, fairy-tale princess-like designs of the collection. Elie Saab was quoted backstage saying that he seeks to embellish a magical woman in the most glorious ways and with each design his goal is to do so in a different way. For this collection his focus was on emphasizing expert level couturier embroidery and an abundance of pearls. The hues of coral, crimson, midnight indigo, glacier blue and antiqued rosé are reminiscent of a twilight sunset. The more formal blacks, whites and neutrals are objets d’art and awe inspiring examples of expert couture.
As beautiful as the images of these amazing examples of Elie Saab couture are, I don’t feel that these photos do them justice. The designs are far more fabulous on the catwalk, where we can see them flowing effortlessly down the runway. The fabrics move around the woman’s form and showcase it. The details are illuminated. We can see how each design was so well thought out and the impeccable level of work involved in it’s final creation. See the video of the show at the end of the post. It is TRULY worth a watch if you admire Elie Saab’s work as much as I do ♥
