Georges Hobeika Fairy Tales
I’m a huge Georges Hobeika fan. His work is filled with examples of his passion for his craft. In this collection he created unique textures and patterns by manipulating fabric in original ways. He combined winter-weight velvet with light as air layers, and sheer fabrics. I love the way he layered a sheer color over a lighter one underneath, how a loose velvet bow graces a neckline, or a deep V neck blossoms into a billowing layered gown. The shapes and lines are curvaceous and ultra feminine. His hand embroidery, embellished with Swarovski crystals and beading are as always, extraordinary and expertly crafted. I love the little touches of velvet petals. Jewel tones for winter were an excellent choice for a palette and each design is the epitome of couture perfection and utterly romantic and flattering. This is one of my favorite collections.
